Are you the next budding Florist or Wedding Planner? Cathy Teeters uses her experience to teach participants of every skill level. We have seminars for everyone, including the DIY Brides.

Cathy Teeters attended Cliff Mann Floral Design School in Denver, Colorado. She worked for two leading retail floral shops for 18 years, ten years as a lead production manager and wedding coordinator. In 2001 she opened her own business, Beautiful Weddings and Design Studio.

She and her team have worked with hundreds of brides offering both wedding and event florals, as well as coordinating and planning. Teeters is a Senior Member of The Association of Bridal Consultants and has completed their professional training course and continues to pursue and further her education by attending yearly conventions and seminars.

With over 35 years in the floral and wedding business she is considered an expert in the field of design and wedding planning. She has a passion for the floral industry and wedding business.

Fun Floral Design

Classes will be offered for fun and pleasure to experiment and learn basic design principles and create a project worth displaying in your home and sharing with your friends and family.

Basic Beginning Class
  • Care & Handling of Flowers
  • Principals of Design and Color
  • Basic Mechanics & Tools of Design
  • Beginning Vase Arrangements & Basket Arrangements
  • We will demonstrate a variety of wreath forms, techniques, & styles.
  • Wreath classes vary with the season.
  • You will go home with a finished wreath that you can hang on your door.
Bubble Bowls
  • This is a technique I learned at an AIFD seminar in the early 90’s and I have been sharing these bowls ever since, in wedding design, as well as artificial floral arrangements. ?It is a beautiful painted bowl to treasure and display.
  • A technique you will love to learn.
  • Depending on the time of year we will celebrate the upcoming season & holiday.
  • We teach holiday centerpiece design that matches the spirit of the season.
  • From Easter centerpieces to May baskets to Fall leaves and branches, and of course fragrant holiday greens for Christmas, you’ll always go home with a beautiful display to celebrate the season.

All of the above classes, tools & material provided. ?Each class you will take home at least one beautiful project you created.

Wedding Design

We are offering a series of classes on wedding design for those do-it-yourselfers, those already in the wedding business, or for those that will enjoy taking the classes and then realize they want to hire a professional.

Basic Care & Handling of Flowers
  • Proper care and treatment of flowers. From the time flowers are purchased, watered, fed, cut, and refrigerated, they require specific treatment to ensure that they look their best.
  • Color Trends and How to Determine Which Flowers are Available in Which Colors.
  • Understanding the mechanics of floral design and the proper way of structuring, wiring, and wrapping designs so that they are structurally sound.
  • Introduction to different varieties of flowers, greens, and accents.
  • Introduction to Bow Making.
Bridal Bouquets, Attendants Flowers, & Flower Girl Designs
  • Learn to make hand-tied bridal bouquets.
  • Learn about the different styles of bridal bouquets.
  • Learn to make small pomander ball (for flower girls).
  • Learn simple styles for attendants from?sophisticated?to country-chic.
Corsage, Boutonnieres, & Cake Tops
  • Learn the techniques of taping and wiring necessary for creating your own corsages and boutonnieres.
  • Learn about proper flower selection for long-lasting designs.
  • Learn about the different styles available.
  • Learn about the methods and techniques for creating your own elegant cake tops.
  • Learn all details regarding the floral design for the ceremony.
  • Church and outdoor weddings.
  • We will discuss and demonstrate head table and cake table decor.
  • Learn about the focal areas of the reception design and decor.
  • Learn the many styles of guest table florals, with several demonstrations.
